Last year, I began work on my first book about a small weekly magazine financed by a shipping magnate in 1980's London and the fascinating lives of a truly global and diverse editorial team. I currently work in marketing and communications, live a fairly frugal life and battle with an increasing sense of panic about how to complete this book and keep myself afloat at the same time. I know that if I could put more time towards it, I would be able to complete a project that will spotlight an important part of global publishing history. Having a basic income would also provide me with financial relief so I can also afford to look after some medical concerns that have arisen during the last year and work to support the wonderful people in my community.
