I want to add to the rich fabric that is art and culture. Having a basic income would allow me to pursue education, studio arrangements, gallery showings, group projects, and more. It is very difficult for artists and musicians in my country, Canada, and especially in my city, Vancouver. Our cost of living is extremely high. Our housing prices are dictated by property developers and because of this very little housing is subsidized, making it very difficult to live in a space that provides the necessary amenities for an artist and young person (space, accessibility, safety, renters' rights).
